Key Information
PE: Tuesday & Thursday - PE kit consists of plain blue/black shorts or jogging bottoms, a plain white t-shirt, plain blue jumper and black trainers.
Homework- Handed out on Wednesday and due to be handed in on Monday. All homework will be explained before given, and will focus on the learning we will have completed within the week, so nothing should be a surprise.
Spelling Shed – Online spelling tasks will be set on a weekly basis for homework. Please ensure that your child is regularly logging on and completing these tasks to ensure accurate spelling which is key to achieving the national standard in writing.
Reading Diaries – Your child will receive a reading book once a week and should be reading for at least 10 minutes per day. If they finish the book, they need to read it again and practise the reading skills that are taught in class. The expectation is that their diary is signed by an adult at home (or sibling) at least 3 times a week. You do not need to write a lengthy note about what pages have been read or what you discussed, just write the date, book title and sign.
Water bottles – We no longer use plastic cups in school to help reduce plastic waste. Please send your child into school with a labelled water bottle. It is important your child has access to water throughout the day. Reminder – only water should be brought into school.
We are a nut free school so please do not send any items that may contain nuts in packed lunches.
